Equipment
Practice suit
We recommend having a suit for practices different than the team suit for meets. Suits must be one piece. If your swimmer has modesty concerns, they can wear a rashguard or shorts over the suit. This extra fabric can create drag, slowing the swimmer down, so we do recommend everything be form fitting.
Swim Cap
Swim caps protect hair from chlorine and reduce drag caused by long hair. If you need help putting a cap on, ask a board member to show you how! Specialty caps are available for braided hair.
Goggles
A pair of good-fitting goggles with keep your swimmer's eyes pain free during practice. Once you find a pair your swimmer likes, we recommend buying several to keep as back up. Tinted goggles can be helpful at outdoor pools.
Team Suit
Purchasing a team suit is not necessary, but builds team spirit and helps the team look unified. Team suits can be purchased via our team store prior to April 24.
Optional equipment
Swim Fins teach proper leg and foot placement to build a strong kick. Look for "long blade" fins for swim training, not snorkeling fins or flippers.
A mesh bag can hold all your swimmer's equipment while allowing water to drip through.
A swim parka can keep your swimmer warm and save you some loads of laundry from several towels.
