Important for meet tomorrow!!!
***I know it’s a lot of information but I promise you really want to read it and look at the attached maps. No matter how good a parking spot may seem, it’s (almost) never worth getting a ticket or towed. That being said below is helpful information from the team we are visiting.
Parking/Traffic
The Kings River Kingfish Pool is located at 6775 Kings River Dr., 77346.
Parking is very limited, but we will have two parking spot reserved for your team (when facing the pool, the spots are on the right down from the crosswalk).
There will be a designated drop off zone for families to unload and then find parking. This area will be in front of your teams designated parking spots toward the crosswalk.
Signs will be set up around the neighborhood to help with parking/no parking zones.
Our Homeowners Association is very strict on parking, please pay attention to the no parking signs and where the signs do end, please do not park on both sides of the street.
This is something we actively work at to stay in the good graces of the HOA, so anything you can do to communicate this to your team is greatly appreciated!
Setup
When facing the entrance to the pool, please set up in the area to the right of the sidewalk that leads to the entrance. The Kingfish will set up in the area to the left, mainly in the parking lot. There is extra setup area on the far right side of the pool that is shared among both teams. Both setup areas are on a slope and near wooded areas. Please do not let your kids play in the wooded areas as snakes and critters do live there. Though we treat for mosquitos, they are not completely eradicated so please be prepared if you are sensitive to bugs.
Our equipment team will open up the pool around 5:45 AM. We do not recommend setting up tents the night before. Unfortunately this is a bad year for stickers in the grass. Recommend kids bring flip flops and it's not a bad idea to lay down tarps if you have them.
Your swimmers will primarily use the front and side gates to enter the pool and go to the ready bench. I’m attaching a pool layout.
To make sure you can hear announcements we place one speaker on a stand facing toward your setup area.
We set up a tent for the visiting coaches located on the deep end side of the pool.
Safety
There is an automatic emergency phone outside the building and a phone inside the concessions area if we need to call for emergency responders. Our lifeguards will have first responsibility for first aid. We also have a first aid kit in the Kingfish storage area.
Concessions
We will have a concession stand available – full breakfast and lunch menus will be available along with snacks and drinks. Tom's Coffee Truck will be on hand as well with a variety of drinkables.
Warmups/Check in
Kingfish warmups start at 7:15AM sharp until 7:45AM
Visiting Team warmups at 7:45AM sharp until 8:15
Meet
National Anthem at 8:30 AM just prior to meet start.
Please designate a couple of people to introduce themselves to Totten Riordan, our announcer in case there are announcements you need to make during the day,
Hopefully this answers all your questions. Please let me know if you have any more questions or concerns.
Looking forward to a great meet!
**Like I said at the beginning it’s a lot of information but really helpful! We can’t wait to see everyone tomorrow!
