Sunday Swarm 4/27
This week we begin prepping for Time Trials! This is a special kind of meet that is just our team, so think of it like a scrimmage. Kids can swim all of their events to get an official time and ensure they are properly seeded to create the most efficient dual meet. There will be no relays. If you cannot attend time trials, we will need to time your swimmer during practice. Everyone must DECLAREon SwimTopia.
If you know you will miss a meet, please volunteer for an extra shift on Saturday. Because it’s just us, we need all the help we can get filling our volunteer positions.
Practice this week
M - no practice
T - no practice – Raising Cane’s Spirit Night, 4:30-8:30
W - regular practice times
Th - regular practice times
F - Regular practice times, Kona Ice on the Lawn
S - TIME TRIALS!
Drink Drive
The drink donation competition is in full swing! The age group who brings the most will win breakfast delivered to their tent during time trials.
Merchandise
Most swimsuit orders are in and ready to be picked up during practices. Tshirts have been ordered and will be ready for pick up late this week or early next week. The merchandise table will be up and open at Time Trials. In the meantime, you can order all your Eels gear at our team website.
Upcoming Events
Tuesday – Spirit Night at Raising Cane’s 4:30-8:30
Friday – Kona Ice on the Lawn
Kona Ice should be enjoyed in the grass to the east of the Natatorium or parking lot. No trash/spills on the concrete. Absolutely none in the natatorium.
Volunteer positions needed
Our 7-8 girls do not have a tent parent. Our 9-10 girls and 9-10 boys each need one more tent parent. Tent parents sit with the swimmers and help line them up before events.
Are you not an early morning person? Do you love carrying clipboards and delegating tasks? Do you ALWAYS know the most efficient route to work? We want YOU to be our Meet Tear Down Coordinator! This person helps ensure all our equipment is loaded into the trailer and we are cleaned up from the meet properly and efficiently each week.
Adopt an Elver
Each six and under swimmer will be partnered with an old swimmer to be their buddy and provide encouragement and small treats throughout the season. If you have an older swimmer who may be interested in adopting an elver, please let me know.
Reminders
Please help us keep kids out of the fountain and mulch area. When there is an event in the community room, we must stay on the natatorium side of the fountain.
Declare your swimmer for Time Trials and sign up for a volunteer position.
Let’s have a great week!
