    Sunday Swarm 5/4/25

    EMC Eels Families,

Look at you! You survived our first meet yesterday at Time Trials! The Board and coaches are all so grateful for your patience and flexibility as we settle into the season. We look forward to seeing those times drop and the whole process get even smoother.

If your swimmer missed Time Trials, they will be timed during their regular practice time by Wednesday. As your swimmer progresses, they can be timed in breast, fly, and IM events. Come to practice as often as you’re able, and our coaches can help them reach their goals in these events.

    Practice this week:

    M-Th Regular Practice

F – Pep Rally Practice Schedule — more info coming soon!

Swimmer Shoutouts: Great job to Ryleigh W. for singing our National Anthem! So many swimmers dove off the blocks for the first time, and Coach Isaiah noticed we had only one false start the whole meet. Jason H. is 17 and a brand new swimmer and swam every event. Congratulations to the 7-8 age group for winning the drink donation competition! They received donuts and GoGurts in their tents on Saturday. (Thank you to every single family who donated – your generosity helps us keep our prices low!) Huge shoutout to all the veteran parents who helped our rookie families make it through!

    Upcoming events:

Friday 5/9 Kona Ice on the Lawn and Pep Rally

Saturday 5/10 Dual Meet at home vs Summerwood Stingrays. Specific information, including a map of setup locations, is coming later this week, but EMC warmups will be at 7:15am.

    Merchandise

All preordered merchandise is in and ready to be picked up at the pool. Extra team shirts are available for purchase for $15.

    Shark Splash Invitational

May 18 we will be attending Shark Splash at Klein Collins High School. Invitational meets are completely optional. Qualifying times are listed in the meet document. Please declare whether or not your swimmer is attending this Sunday meet by May 7.  Families pay EMC for individual events ($8 each) and the team will pay for any relay events. Invitational meets do not count toward season high point winners and any volunteer requirement given by the host team does not count toward your EMC volunteer shifts.

    Reminders:

    • Declare for our first dual meet against Summerwood by Wednesday evening. Sign up for your volunteer position. Melanie set this up so you should be able to do it from our team homepage. Thanks Melanie!
    • Declare for Shark Splash Invitational. It is not necessary to sign up for a volunteer shift. If the host teams assigns EMC a position, we will contact participating families to have it filled.
    • Everyone is doing a great job respecting the NCISD property! Thank you so much for your cooperation on this.

We are here to answer any questions. See you at the pool!
