EMC Eels Families,

This Saturday we are heading to Foster’s Mill/King’s Point to take on the FMKP Waves. Thank you for helping us fill all of our volunteer positions! This will help the meet run efficiently. The Waves have provided us with a lot of information, so please read this email in its entirety. Please note the concession stand is cash or Zelle only.

Timeline:

6:30 Set Up crew arrives

7:00 Parents arrive and set up; Waves warmups (home team always goes first). Swimmers will check in with Aaron and Ken to receive their events. If arriving after 7:30, please text Aaron with your swimmer name @ 713-876-1930. Volunteers check in to get badges. Write your swimmers’ names on their backs and event numbers ONLY on their arms (heats and lanes are subject to change).

Again, we do not know when the meet will end, as this depends on how many swimmers we have, how quickly the events finish, how many volunteers we have, and how efficiently we change shifts at event 41.

Parking

The parking is limited, and the HOA is very strict. Here is the link to the parking map. Please observe and abide by the posted "No parking" signs. There cannot be parking on both sides of a street. There is a fair amount of parking available across the street at Willow Creek Elementary. You’re welcome to use any spots available at the school, but please avoid parking on the grass at the school.

Set Up

EMC setup will be on the left side of the clubhouse when facing the pool. As with our previous outdoor meet, you may want to pack blankets/tarps for the ground, bug spray, and sunblock. After you watch your swimmer’s event from the pool deck, please head back to the setup area to make room for other spectators.

Meter Pool

FMKP has a 6 lane, 25 meter pool. So far this season, our kids have only swam in 25 short course yard pools. Therefore, their seed times will be slightly longer because their yard times (SCY) have been converted to meter times (SCM). You can search online for swim time yard-to-meter calculators to see how their times convert and track their progress. They should expect their times to be a bit longer, but will be converted to SCY for team records and personal bests.

Concessions

FMKP accepts cash and Zelle payments ONLY. They will have breakfast tacos and lunch items, as well as other snacks and drinks.

Some reminders from the Board:

• Saturday is the last chance to earn qualifying times for Summer Champs. Please declare Saturday by 8pm if your swimmer would like to attend.
• Our Division (White 1) is offering these fun shirts and tanks to represent our teams during our Divisional meet on June 14. Pre-order yours by June 8.

We have normal practice tonight and Friday. Rest up and hydrate! Let us know if your swimmer reaches a goal on Saturday! We would love to celebrate them.
