rEELly Great Swimmers
Our Junior Coaches were absolute super stars during preseason clinics. Bella, Ayden, Rilee, Kameron, Lexy, Ethan, Kailey, Caleb, Miah, Hector, Ashley, and Arleth are all high school swimmers volunteering their time to help coach our 10 and under swimmers. We are so thankful for their dedication to the team and their enthusiasm for the sport. We can’t wait to cheer you all on as you reach for your goals this summer!
Season Long Volunteers
The following season long positions are still available:
- Tent Parent for 6U girls and 9-10 girls – hang out in the age group tent with the girls and walk them to the ready bench when their event is called. Remind them to stay hydrated.
- Head timer – stand behind the blocks and run stopwatches to serve as backups in case any of the lane timers malfunction
- Tent coordinator – help set up age group tents before each meet and help take them down at the end of the meet

Team Communication
You will receive an email every Sunday evening with the schedule for the week. On meet weeks, you will receive an email on Thursday evenings outlining the meet information. These will also be posted under “news” on the team website. You can receive Remind messages by texting emcswi to 81010. Also follow our Facebook and Instagram pages at EMC Swim Team.
Facility Reminders
We are guests of New Caney ISD. No meals in the stands, playing in elevators or the fountain, or balls on the turf. If there is an event happening in the community room, please stay on the natatorium side. We share the pool with NEHA, and we all hold each other to a high standard so that we can continue our partnerships with the district.
Equipment Reminders
All swimmers should come to practice with a one-piece swimsuit and goggles they are comfortable in. Caps are helpful for protecting the hair and reducing drag. If you are unsure how to put on a cap, don’t hesitate to ask for help! It’s a learned skill. Caps and goggles are available for purchase through our team store, or onsite next week. Coach Isaiah has a few other pieces of optional equipment he recommends:
- Fins teach proper foot placement for an improved kick. Look for “long blade training fins” (not snorkeling fins or short-blade fins, even though those are cooler colors).
- Buoys isolate the leg muscles to build arm strength
- Older swimmers may use paddles to learn proper arm place and improve their catch in the water.
Please reach out with any questions. See you at the pool TOMORROW!
