Adopt an Elver
Hi Team,
I hope you're all doing great and are excited for an amazing swim season! I’m reaching out with an awesome opportunity to be a positive influence on the younger swimmers in our program.
The Adopt an Elver program helps our 6U swimmers (a.k.a. Elvers—baby eels!) feel safe, supported, and included during practices and meets. As an older swimmer, your role is to help your Elver feel like a valued part of the team through small acts of kindness and encouragement.
Here are some ways you can support your Elver throughout the season:
- Cheer them on during their events
- Offer friendly tips during practice or warm-ups
- Take them to the concession stand at meets (with parent permission)
- Celebrate their successes with small gifts ( dollar tree is a great place for items)
- Make signs or banners to hang in the team tent
Thanks again for helping make our team such a positive and welcoming place for every swimmer! This isn’t about being perfect—it’s about being kind, supportive, and making someone’s swim experience even better.
If you’re interested in Adopting an Elver, let me know by May 1st. We’ll do our best to match you with someone you can really connect with.
Let’s make our team stronger by lifting each other up. Can’t wait to see the amazing impact you’ll have!
If you have any questions, please reach out to Alex Scott, our activities coordinator.
Best,
Alex Scott
