Meet Information: Shark Splash Invitational
Parents,
Sunday is our first Invitational Meet – Shark Splash! Invitational meets are run a bit differently than normal dual meets, so please read this email in its entirety. See the section on SportsYou for a communication platform specific to this meet.
Location
Klein Collins High School, 20811 Ella Blvd. Spring, TX 77388. There are several high schools in Klein ISD. Please make sure you check the address and are headed to the right location. The linked map can show you were to park, enter, and set up.
Warm-ups
Morning Session (11 and up): 8:20-8:40am, lanes 7-8. Look for Coach Micah. The meet will start at 9am.
Afternoon Session (10 and under): 1:00-1:15pm, lanes 4, 5, & 6. Look for Coach Isaiah and Coach Brayden. The meet will start at 1:30pm.
Set Up
Parents will set up in the school cafeteria. There is a grassy area available if you prefer to sit outdoors. Bring your chairs, but tents won’t be necessary. Seating inside the natatorium is come-and-go, meaning once you watch your swimmer’s event, please leave the natatorium so other families have space. There will be a couple food trucks and a small concession stand available. They often sell meet tshirts as well.
Meet Documents
Timeline – track when your events are scheduled. After your swimmer’s last event, feel free to leave! Please verify you are not in a relay before leaving. Invitationals tend to run quicker than a dual meet, so make sure you can hear the announcer and get to the ready bench when your events are called.
Psych Sheet – this document allows you to see other swimmers’ entry times and scope out the competition!
Heat Sheets – These will be posted closer to the meet. They will also be posted on the app MeetMobile (this meet does NOT use SwimTopia). Search for Shark Splash 2026 in Spring, TX.
Results will be posted on the walls outside the natatorium. Final Results will be added to our website at the conclusion of the meet.
SportsYou
We have created a group on SportsYou for parent communication before and during the meet. This app is common among year-round swim clubs and other sports teams. To access, download the SportsYou app. After logging in, click “teams” at the bottom. Press the blue circle with the plus sign, or the “join” link at the top. Enter Code JQ6Q-WJ9R. On this platform, we can answer questions, help with ready bench calls, and track down kids if necessary.
Timing Assignments
We have split our timing assignments into 45-60 minute chunks. Please feel free to trade assignments, but know that EMC is responsible for filling these jobs. The meet will not continue if someone is not there. These timing assignments do not count toward your required 7 shifts for the team. If you are assigned to time, we ask that you do so willingly and for the good of the team. The host team is providing one timer per lane.
Morning session: one timer for lane 8.
- Events 1-12: Falcon (Report behind the blocks at 8:45.)
- Events 13-27: Pina
- Events 28-40: Briggs
- Events 41-52: Carranco
Afternoon session: one timer for lane 7 and one timer for lane 8.
- Events 53-60: Grant, Waltmon (Report behind the blocks at 1:15.)
- Events 61-72: Ramirez, G., Maldonado
- Events 73-82: Spratlen, McDermott
- Events 83-88: De Jesus, Wood
Relays
Most swimmers are in a relay if we had the numbers to fill the event. Please check this document for a list of your swimmers events and relay entries. For freestyle relays, all four teammates swim freestyle. The number in parentheses indicates the order they will swim. For Medley relays, each teammate swims a different stroke. The number in parentheses indicates what stroke that swimmer will do: 1 – backstroke, 2 – breaststroke, 3 – butterfly, 4 – freestyle.
Payment
If you have not yet paid, please do so by cash, check (East Montgomery County Swim Team), or credit card (minimum of $10 please). You can pay us at the pool or at the meet.
Good Luck to all our Eels! Swim Fast!
