Eels families,

Saturday we head to Foster’s Mill/King’s Point to take on the Waves for an interdivisional dual meet! Below you will find everything you need to know about the schedule and parking.

Schedule:

• 6:30 Set up Crew arrives. EMC Set up is on the grass on the left side of the club house when facing the pool.
• 7:00 Families arrive. Swimmers check in with Aaron and Ken to receive their events. If you are arriving after 7:30, text Aaron at (713) 876-1930 with your swimmer’s first and last name. Volunteers check in with Brooke, regardless of what shift you are working. If you are signed up for a shift at any point on Saturday and you have not checked in with her by 8am, your shift may be given away. You may text Brooke at 281-797-7002 if you are running late.
• 7:45-8:15 EMC warm ups (visiting team always goes second)
• 8:10 Timers and Scribes meeting
• 8:30 Meet starts

Again, we do not know how long the meet will last. This depends on how efficiently we complete shift change and how fast the kids swim.

Parking Info from FMKP

Our parking is limited, and our HOA is very strict. Here is the link to our parking map. https://fmkp-waves.swimtopia.com/visiting-team-information Please observe and abide by the posted "No parking" signs. We cannot have parking on both sides of a street. There is a fair amount of parking available across the street at Willow Creek Elementary. You’re welcome to use any spots available at the school, but please avoid parking on the grass at the school.

Pool Notes

FMKP has a 6-lane, 25 meter pool. We have only competed in yards so far this season. Your swimmers’ entry times will be converted to meters. You can google “meter to yard swim time converter” to compare your swimmers times from previous meets.

There is no spectator seating around the pool except for a few chairs for the elderly. Please watch your child’s event, then return to your tent area.

FMKP offers great concession stand choices and accepts cash, card, and ApplePay.

Swimmer Events

Swimmers may be entered in up to 3 individual events (they must have current times for each) and 2 relay events. Relays are formed by the computer and approved by coaches. The fastest four swimmers are on A team, the next fastest are on B, then on C team. For medley relays, the number next to the letter indicates what stroke your swimmer will do (1: backstroke; 2: breaststroke; 3: butterfly; 4: freestyle). If you are assigned to a relay, your team is depending on you. Please do not leave the meet because that event will have to scratch, possibly wasting the time of the three other families on your relay. If you choose not to participate in relays, you may mark that when you declare.

Weather

Both teams are keeping an eye on the weather forecast. As of now, the meet will continue as scheduled. We will communicate any updates to you as soon as we get them. For the most immediate updates, subscribe to our Remind texts by texting @EMCSwi to 81010. Please be prepared for wet ground with extra towels or tarps/picnic blankets to sit on.

Miscellaneous notes

Please make sure your swimmer has their name on their backs. This is incredibly helpful for ready bench volunteers. Remind them to listen well. A smooth and efficient ready bench truly means a smooth and efficient meet.
